As a result, the pandemic has placed a significantburden on the shoulders of all health workers. All events related to the pandemic haveaffected the mental and psychological well-being of many health workers (Billings et al.,2021). Surveys indicate that the rates of depression, anxiety, stress, and insomnia will be highin frontline workers as a result of the workplace pressure experienced at this crucial time(Dalgleish-Warburton et al., 2020). Several organizations, including ours, have realized theimportance of addressing the mental healthcare of the general public and the healthcareworkers (Dalgleish-Warburton et al., 2020).The present mental healthcare resources may not sufficiently address the loomingmental health crisis. Therefore, at Cedar-Sinai Medical Center, we acknowledge the need toimprove the quality and access to mental healthcare by healthcare workers through theapplication for this grant. Most of the resources in our institution have been directed towardsthe eradication of the novel coronavirus disease. This decision has left other departments, especially the mental health department, deprived of resources and unable to serve both thehealthcare workers and members of the public. Therefore, the institution s administrationproposed the expansion of the mental healthcare department to cope with the increasingdemand.By applying for this grant, our institution aims at improving the quality and access ofhealthcare workers to mental healthcare services. This will be implemented by hiring moremental healthcare workers and launching an online platform where healthcare workers cancommunicate privately and even anonymously with mental healthcare professionals 24/7.3Eventually, the looming mental healthcare crisis among healthcare workers will be averted. This program will enable healthcare workers to cope with the increasing demands of theworkplace by retaining optimum psychological health. This is crucial for the propermanagement of the pandemic.4ReferencesBillings, J., Bloomfield, M., Greene, T., Hegarty, S., Ondruskova, T., Seif, N. A., & Soulios,E. (2021).
