a religion that you believe has the most in common with the teachings
of Christianity. Explain your choice by discussing at least three
comparative aspects of these two religions.( I have uploaded the materials that you will need for this answer).
Hildegard of BingenEverything Lives in GodYour eyes are not strong enough to look at God. Your mind is not strong enough to comprehend his mysteries. You can only see and know what God allows. Yet in your desire to see and know more, you engage in allmanner of foolish speculations, which cause your soul to stagger. Just as water is absorbed y the heat of a burning forge, so your soul is absorbed by the restlessness of your thoughts, as you try to grasp what is beyond your grasp. The Word of God regulates the movements of the sun, the moon and the stars. The Word of God gives the light which shines from the heavenly bodies. He makes the wind blow, the rivers run and the rain fall. He makes trees burst into blossom, and the crops bring forth the harvest. The sky above us imitates God. Just as the sky hasno beginning and no end, so God has no beginning and end. Just as the stars sparkle, so spiritual stars emanate from the throne of God, to sparkle within people’s souls. The Word of God spoke, and brought all creatures into being, God and his Word are one. As the Word spoke, so God’s eternal will was fulfilled. The echo of the Word awakened life from inanimate dust. When the Word of God spoke at the moment of creation, his sound was implanted in every creature, and gave life to every creature. The love of God is symbolized by a leaping fountain. All who come near to it are showered by its sparkling waters. And they can see their own image in the pool below.Everything lives in God, and hence nothing can truly die, since God is life itself. God is the wisdom that brought all things into being. He breathes life into all things. In all creation in trees, plants, animals, and stones there are hidden secret powers which no onecan discern unless they are revealed by God.

growing up in the Assembly of God faith, I have seen the Pentecostal
beliefs. And I don't belief that speaking in the Holy Spirit is a
requirement to salvation, or the question I have is it real? I just
don't see the real connection here. The doctrine is just a little out of
touch with reality for me. I don't want to offend anyone by no means.
Although this doctrine is beliefs of others. I just can't see how it
could change the way we belief in our religion of choice.

I know the Assemblies of God well which you have grown up with. I
assure you that this group does not equate "speaking in tongues" or
glossolalia as a requirement for salvation. That is not to say there may
be some who do not understand their doctrine and make this false claim.
The doctrine of this very respected Pentecostal Movement placed in
their official doctrine that the supernatural phenomenon that you
address is a subsequent experience separate from salvation for the
purpose of evangelism and prayer. They understand this promised
experience was addressed by Jesus in Acts 1:8 when he stated, "But you
shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you and you shall be
my witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, and in Samaria and unto the ends of
the world." This power was promised to the early Church in order to
have power in communicating the Gospel message in the face of the
intimidating Roman Empire. This experience still continues today across
the world and estimates of over 800 million persons claiming the
Pentecostal experience of speaking in tongues seems to be correct. See
the Assemblies Official doctrine on this experience below. Hope this
7. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit
All believers are entitled to and should ardently expect and
earnestly seek the promise of the Father, the baptism in the Holy Spirit
and fire, according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. This was
the normal experience of all in the early Christian Church. With it
comes the enduement of power for life and service, the bestowment of the
gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry. (2010. Para #7)

238CHRISTIANITYThe Beatitudesfrom MatthewSeeing the crowds, he went up on the mountain, and when he sat down his disciples came to him. And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying: Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so men persecuted the prophets who were before you. (Matthew 5:1 12)Sincerely Motivated Faith and Worksfrom Matthew You have heard that it was said to the men of old, You shall not kill; and whoever kills shall be liable to judgment. But I say to you that every one who is angry with his brother shall be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother shall be liable to the council, and whoever says, You fool! shall be liable to the hell of fire. So if you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. (Matthew 5:21 4)True Treasuresfrom Matthew Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. (Matthew 6:19 21)Healing the Blindfrom MatthewAnd as Jesus passed on from there, two blind men followed him, crying aloud, Have mercy on us, Son of David. When he entered the house, the blind men came to him; and Jesus said to them, Do you believe that I am able to do this? They said to him, Yes, Lord. Then he touched their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it done to you. And their eyes Anthology Liv Rel 3E.indb 23806/07/2011 22:41
