Students will choose a movie to watch and apply Eriksons Psychosocial Stage Theory to the main character in the movie. Students may watch any of the following movies: Forrest Gump, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, or another appropriate movie that the instructor approves. Please be creative!! While watching the movie, pay particular attention to how the main character in the movie progresses through each of Eriksons eight lifespan stages. Using APA style, write a maximum of six pages, (minimum of 4 pages), double-spaced, illustrating how the character goes through the majority (i.e., six of the eight) of the psychosocial stages, and what is the result of each stage. Make sure to describe the stage according to the theory, describe how the stage is manifested in the movie, and what the outcome of the stage is for the character.
For example, in Forrest Gump, one might say that Forrest goes through the Industry versus Inferiority stage as exemplified after his run from the bullies. The result of that stage would likely be industry, because of the outcome for Forrest was being more productive and confident in life after this event.
Please note that there may be multiple, appropriate interpretations of how the stages apply to the movie. Do the best you can in fitting the character through these stages. It would be difficult to apply every stage to the character in the movie, but try the best you can and apply at least six stages
